At Shipbuilding Engineering, we focus on constructing the hull and outfitting of yachts. Heesen Yachts builds superyachts ranging from 50 to 80 metres in aluminium and steel. This always requires creativity and robust solutions from our engineers, such as the patented Backbone construction we developed for our 80-metre designs. Our Series allows us to learn from previous projects. Additionally, the latest 3D and VR applications enhance quality control and improve the efficiency of engineering and production.
All technical systems on board are thoroughly developed by the Mechanical Engineering team. Our engineers do not focus on just one component; instead, they work on the comprehensive technical design of all systems. This process begins with the layout of the engine room, where increasing numbers of components must be accommodated within a limited space. You will also design all the piping systems for the numerous installations on board in 3D—a challenging puzzle. That is why close cooperation and clear communication with other departments are crucial.
At Interior Engineering, we define the design and equipment levels of our yacht interiors and exterior carpentry. The Work Planners and Draftsmen translate the designer’s concepts and visuals into technical layout drawings and purchasing specifications. Similar to Shipbuilding and Mechanical Engineering, the department comprises a Manager, Assistant Manager, Project Leaders, Work Planners, and Draftsmen, offering numerous career opportunities.
