Are you a driven engineer who wants to work in the highest division of yacht construction?

We want to hear from you!

We are looking for a skilled Draftsman to join our Shipbuilding Engineering Department to create the perfect technical base for the construction of the world’s most exclusive yachts.

  • What will you do?

As a Draftsman in the Shipbuilding Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the technical design of our yachts based on the yacht’s design plans. You will work on the hull construction, outfitting and exterior construction at the highest level of the yachting industry, where construction has to meet extreme requirements. With all aspects of each build undertaken in-house, our employees learn the entire build process of our luxury yachts.

Every Heesen yacht is unique, offering a high level of variation in this role. Dependent on your experience, you will begin work at Heesen with 2D-designs in AutoCAD. We offer an extensive internal educational process, where you can develop the skill to create 3D-designs. The Draftsman’s work ensures an efficient build process and the creation of a product you can be proud of: there is no greater satisfaction watching a Heesen project transformed into a world-class superyacht.

  • Where will you work?

The Shipbuilding Engineering Department is one of the three Engineering Departments of Heesen Yachts along with Mechanical and Interior Engineering. Every yacht built at our shipyard in Oss is unique and, as a Draftsman, you will be involved in the entire yacht construction – from technical drawings to communication with the crew. The production halls are adjacent to your workplace, meaning that you can view the immediate implementation of your ideas. Working in a close international team, you will enjoy direct communication, an open atmosphere and a shared passion for high-quality with your colleagues.

  • Who are we looking for?

You are an ambitious and motivated engineer with experience in the shipbuilding industry and a passion for luxury yachts. Your broad knowledge of yacht construction is complemented with an understanding of the specific challenges of outfitting. You are analytically strong, solution-oriented and pragmatic, able to work flexibly and independently. Within your team, you will be a strong character able to communicate easily and directly.

    Education and experience:

    • HBO-degree in the field of mechanical engineering, plus three years’ experience in shipbuilding engineering.
    • MBO-degree in the field of shipbuilding engineering, plus five years’ of experience in shipbuilding engineering.
    • Experience in construction design and shipbuilding.
    • AutoCAD proficiency.
    • A comprehensive level of both English and Dutch (oral and written).
  • What we offer

At Heesen, the happiness of our employees is important to us. That’s why we offer all Heesen employees a job with responsibility, collegiality and appreciation. You will get all the space to further develop yourself and grow.
Working at Heesen, you can expect the following attractive benefits:

    • A competitive salary.
    • Good travel reimbursement with unlimited kilometres.
    • Pension scheme.
    • Fitness subscription with 50% discount or free company sponsored swimming.
    • Collective health insurance.
    • 27 holidays and 13 (set) ATV-days (when working fulltime).
    • Possibilities for development and education.
    • Active staff association organising fun trips, drinks and festivities.
