The Procurement & Supply Chain department is responsible for purchasing all goods necessary for the construction of our yachts and for the entire organisation. Through effective management of the supply chain, Heesen can deliver yachts on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. Emphasising cost efficiency and the standardisation of processes and technology is becoming increasingly vital.
Procurement is responsible for the strategic purchasing policy of Heesen Yachts, encompassing both production and supporting processes. By closely collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors and fostering strong relationships, we prioritise cooperation throughout the supply chain. Projects are managed integrally, meaning that purchasing and supply chain activities operate within a unified budget, planning, and scope. The Project and Category Buyers develop purchasing and category plans for the various projects. Ensuring timely deliveries and the correct quality and quantity is crucial. Relationship management, sourcing and qualifying suppliers, as well as managing information flows within the ERP system, are also essential core tasks.
All goods purchased are stored and managed in our warehouse. Here, the emphasis is on the optimal design of various operational processes, such as the receipt and storage of materials, and efficient order picking. Upon receipt, goods are thoroughly checked for accuracy and quality, and entered into the ERP system. This provides real-time insight into our material flows and ensures better control of our business processes. In the warehouse, all goods are systematically stored, labelled, and scanned for a fast and reliable picking process. In this manner, this department contributes to an efficient construction process.
Utility ensures that the professionals at Heesen Yachts have all the facilities needed to work efficiently and deliver quality results. Well-functioning tools contribute significantly to the unwavering quality of our yachts. Continuity is crucial for delivering our yachts on time and within budget. This is why Utility has the expertise to maintain and repair many types of production equipment and tools in-house. The department also oversees the management and upkeep of all buildings and infrastructure at the shipyard.
