This is where all our hunts begin. With a comprehensive naval architectural design, technical specifications, and cost calculations, you take the first important steps. Your ideas and solutions form the foundation for a seaworthy, comfortable yacht that you can truly envision being constructed in the shipyard.
Every Heesen yacht begins as a concept on paper. For our Smart Custom and Full Custom yachts, we create a general plan, specifications, and costs based on customer demand. We also develop Series yachts on speculation. Alongside Sales, Marketing, and architects, we decide which type of yacht to build. Cost & Accounting supports this decision with feasibility studies and cost calculations. We then advance the concept to the specification level for Engineering. Thanks to our serial yacht construction, we can design and build increasingly more efficiently.
This department supports Cost & Accounting in feasibility studies covering all aspects of shipbuilding. If the ship is indeed constructed, Naval Architecture will manage the entire preliminary design, including calculations for weight and speed, hull shape, layout, and all safety requirements. With your expertise and experience as a marine engineer, you ensure that the yacht ultimately delivers the promised performance. Is the stability of the yacht adequate? Do the escape routes comply with Keur’s regulations? Is there sufficient space in the engine room? These are questions you, as a Naval Architect, can answer substantively, allowing Engineering to develop seamlessly.
Heesen Yachts collaborates with external interior architects who are overseen by the Interior Design department. The design must align with the spatial reservations and all technical elements of the yacht, including HVAC systems, stairs, and windows. The Interior Design team ensures optimal integration of the interior design within the yacht while also critically evaluating cost considerations, weight specifications, and the construction of the interior.
