Are you a skilled construction or mechanical engineer who wants to work in the highest division of yacht construction?

We want to hear from you!

We are always on the look-out for talented Project Leaders, Planners and Draftsmen for our Engineering Department. We currently have several vacancies open to construction and mechanical engineers looking to work on the most exclusive yachts in the world.

  • What will your work look like?

As a Project Leader in our Engineering Departments, you will manage project teams responsible for the development of the complete technical design and build of the yacht. You will be working in the top tier of the yachting industry, where engineering has to meet the highest and most demanding requirements. No yacht design is the same, but you will lead our Planners and Draftsmen to deliver the same high standards on every project. The foundation of an efficient building process will begin with you.

As a Planner at Heesen Yachts, you are the integral link between the Engineering, Production and Purchasing Departments. Together with the Project Leader and Draftsmen, you will work on the complete technical layout of the yacht. Working with the design sketches from the designers you will work together with the Draftsman to create detailed technical drawings. These will be realised with your colleagues in the Engineering and Production Departments to develop a complete production package.

As a Draftsman in our Engineering Departments, you will design and develop the technical completion of our yachts. Together with the Project Leader and Planner, you will translate the yacht designs into detailed drawings. The Production Department uses these drawings to ensure an efficient build process. Every Heesen yacht is unique and contains the latest technological innovations, offering our Draftsmen a diverse range of challenging tasks.

  • Where will you work?

The preliminary design of each yacht informs the technical drawings as well as project and purchase commissions, both of which are the responsibility of the Engineering Department. The Production and Purchasing Departments will use these for building and purchasing.

The Engineering Department is divided into three divisions: Shipbuilding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Interior Engineering. The Shipbuilding Engineering Department is responsible for the entire construction of the yacht. The Mechanical Engineering Department takes care of the technical and motoric construction of the yacht. The Interior Engineering Department is responsible for the interior design and equipment of the yacht.

  • Who are we looking for?

You are ambitious and driven with a passion for the technical. You love to push yourself and are in your element when you encounter complex technological challenges. You are studious, and you like to apply your broad knowledge of generic systems with expert know-how to your work. You are a flexible, independent worker who can adapt to challenging situations with ease. You are a clear communicator and a social colleague, ready to work in a close team.

    Education and experience:

    • HBO-degree in shipbuilding or mechanical engineering plus three years’ relevant work experience.
    • MBO-degree in shipbuilding or mechanical engineering plus five years’ relevant work experience.
    • Experience in the luxury yacht industry.
    • Additional experience and knowledge may be required depending on the specific vacancy.
