Heesen Interiors in demand with BBL Students
Students looking for a vocational training in the framework of a ‘Beroeps Begeleidende Leerweg’ (BBL) often choose to do so in Winterswijk. Offering all facets of the luxury interior building in-house, Heesen Interiors is a unique company to learn and grow.
Many BBL Students find Heesen Interiors through Opleidings Bedrijf Doetinchem (OBD), a regional training company for the interior industry. Students of local ROC schools are employed by OBD for a vocational learning path. The students are then placed at one of the affiliated interior companies, where they work four days a week. In addition they are trained at the ROC once a week. At OBD they receive extra training, for example in the field of CNC. Eventually, they will also complete an aptitude test at their affiliated interior company.
Unique facilities
Han Boesveld, Head of Production at Heesen Interiors, has many positive experiences with BBL Students from OBD. “We usually have two BBL Students each year. For four years they will follow the Ship Interior Building Level 2 and 3 training, and join us following completion. It is remarkable to see so many students joining us. This is mainly due to the fact that we are one of the leading interior builders – not only in the Netherlands but worldwide. Facilities like ours, including a Veneer and Upholstery Department, are not easily found elsewhere.”
One of the BBL Students who has recently been placed as a Carpenter in Winterswijk by OBD is Max Massop. A glimpse of his experiences at Heesen can be seen in this video.
